Florian Döling Solo
Florian Döling’s solo work began with a concert at the Faulerbad in Freiburg in 2001. It was part of an exhibition opening for visual artists, curated by Jörg Siegele. At the time, it took place in the pool at the Faulerbad, from which the water was drained once a year.
Florian Döling realised the project with an elaborate set-up comprising a synthesiser, percussion, a fretless electric bass, a double bass and a loop station. Documented on the album Inside Watercolours, released in 2003, it is a tribute to his father and musician Waldemar Döling, who died far too young in an accident in 2002.
For his current solo programme, Florian Döling has said goodbye to his former setup and now performs solely with his double bass, without a loop station or any other additional equipment. The programme consists of his own compositions, completely free improvisations and selected standards. A small selection is listed under the heading Videos.
